Autism Diagnostic Evaluation (ADOS-2)
We offer comprehensive autism diagnostic evaluations utilizing the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2), widely recognized as the gold standard assessment tool for the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The ADOS-2 is a standardized, evidence-based measure that evaluates communication, social interaction, play, and restricted or repetitive behaviors through direct, structured observation. Results are interpreted by licensed psychologists with expertise in autism assessment and are integrated with developmental and clinical history to support accurate diagnostic decision-making.
Additional Autism Assessment Options
In addition to the ADOS-2, we offer alternative and supplemental autism assessment instruments when clinically appropriate, including the Childhood Autism Rating Scale, Second Edition (CARS-2).
We also provide in-office clinical observations conducted by a psychologist, which may be requested or accepted by OPWDD in certain circumstances to assess for autism spectrum disorder. This evaluation includes:
- Review of social, developmental, and diagnostic history
- Direct behavioral observation in an office setting
- Clinical interpretation by a licensed psychologist
These options allow for flexible, individualized assessment planning based on referral questions, child presentation, and agency or OPWDD requirements.
